Establishing Professional Contacts

Recently I attempted to establish contact with early childhood education professionals outside of the United States. I linked to the Global Alliance website and found two email addresses there- both for alliances in Europe. I sent an email to the International Step By Step Association of the Netherlands requesting contact information for early educators who would be willing to converse with me concerning early childhood education topics, through emails on a weekly basis. I also sent an email to Nippa- the Early Childhood Organization in Ireland. However, that email was promptly returned as undeliverable. Feeling I needed to try other organizations, I headed to the World Wide Web and googled the OMEP (World Organization for Early Childhood Education). I looked for the local OMEP for Australia and for the UK. I found contacts for both of those organizations and sent emails similar to the emails that I had sent to the Netherlands and Ireland. I am currently waiting on replies for all of these emails. Still feeling that I needed to make further attempts, I emailed one of my former professors at Marshall University to see if she would be able to give me some contacts. She attends the World Forum as often as she can and has met many wonderful early educators from around the world. I didn't think about that until Friday so, there also I am awaiting a response. I will attempt to go ahead and listen to some radio pod-casts from the World Forum website, but I hope to receive some positive replies to my inquiries by next week.
