Final Blog Assignment

The three consequences of learning about international early childhood education that relate to me as a professional are as follows:
1.    1.   It is important for early childhood educators in the United States to understand that early childhood educators throughout the world face similar struggles with policy, families, and poverty that American educators face. Being aware of these struggles helps educators to share ideas to improve early childhood education.
2.       2.  It is important for early childhood educators to be aware of new research that affects our field. When another country tries a new curriculum or approach to early childhood education and posts their findings on how it worked and affected the children in their programs, it helps all educators create the best learning environments and learning experiences for children and their families.
3.       3. It is important for American early educators to understand the difficulties that international early educators face as they advocate for children. In many countries, the plight of poverty is so great that early educators spend a large amount of their time fighting for the rights of children. This is especially true in underdeveloped countries where early childhood education is considered a privilege.  We must extend our efforts for children beyond our borders.

A goal for me personally and as an early childhood professional is to continue to try to contact early childhood educators internationally to exchange ideas and research on how to provide the best care and education to young children and their families, and in particular to children and families who are living in poverty.

  1. Amanda,
I hear from your comments that you feel the same way that I do about children, we love them all, not just Americans! The plight of children's needs should be addressed everywhere!
    Great post!
